A suspect has been arraigned and another is being sought for the murder of Army 1st Lt. Albert Song at downtown L.A. club Icon Ultra Lounge last month, police announced today.

Song, 24, was knocked out and then kicked when he was down after he tried to intervene in a fight on the dance floor early on June 2, according to police and those who knew him:

While acquaintances said he intervened in a fracas, investigators say the beating was “unprovoked.” According to an LAPD statement …

… Song was at the ICON Club, located in the 1200 block of S. Figueroa St. celebrating an event with a group of friends. As they were celebrating on the dance floor, Song was punched and knocked unconscious. Several suspect then kicked the victim repeatedly. The attack appears to be unprovoked.

Police say it happened about 1:54 a.m. The night's event at Icon was billed as “the biggest Asian party in Los Angeles.”
