Pedestrian Collision near Irving Place Left a 65-Year-Old Woman Dead

HIGHLAND PARK, CA (May 1, 2023) – Friday morning, a hit-and-run pedestrian crash claimed the life of Muoi Ong. The incident happened on March 17th, at around 8:30 a.m., at the 5600 block of Aldama Street. According to reports, a dark-colored Chevrolet Tahoe was seen speeding in the area. Meanwhile, Ong was crossing the street when the Tahoe collided with her. The impact of the collision left her with serious injuries. Following the collision, the driver of the Tahoe fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim. Emergency crews arrived shortly after and pronounced 65-year-old Muoi Ong dead at the scene. After investigations, authorities discovered a new surveillance video of the vehicle from different angles and released it on Wednesday, April 26th. Police have offered a $50,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
