It was only a matter of time before the hazy, feel-good soundscapes of chillwave merged with the woozy, psych-fueled aesthetic of Los Angeles' beat music movement.

A new crop of local artists has been working to make that connection very real — and to pretty rewarding results, we might add.

Chatsworth's Baths is at the forefront of that musical mutation (with folks like Asura and Shlohmo also stoking the fires) and now there's a new name to add to your summer playlist: Veux.

The project is a collaboration between L.A.'s own Matthewdavid, the head of Leaving Records, and Atlanta-based producer Dog Bite. And if the song “Late Key” is any indication, their music will be soundtracking many a barbecue in the coming months.

The single comes courtesy of Alpha Pup Records. No word yet on whether a full-length is forthcoming.
