Rialto’s new restoration of Mr. Klein, Joseph Losey’s chilling 1976 drama, will resurface at three Laemmle theaters for a one-week engagement. The film takes place during the German occupation of France in 1942 and concerns an unscrupulous Catholic art dealer (Alain Delon) haunted by his Jewish doppelgänger. The blacklisted Losey made the film in France during his exile, and he builds a powerful sense of paranoia and moral outrage to match its intricate plot. The sets were designed by the great Alexandre Trauner.

Laemmle Royal (also playing at the Playhouse 7 and Town Center 5), 11523 Santa Monica Blvd., Sawtelle, Fri., Oct. 11, various showtimes; $9-$13. (310) 478-3836, laemmle.com.
