Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is the seventh-or-so Kevin Smith film to feature the titular slackers, who were graced with their own movie in 2001’s Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. The writer-director-star, noticeably slimmed down after a year of vegan dieting, comprises the quiet half of the comedy duo; Jason Mewes, as a pot-smoking jokester, more or less plays himself. The plot involves their lumbering cross country odyssey to prevent a movie based on their comic book from being made.

The film will be released on October 15 and 17 at Fathom Event showings (locations include AMC Citywalk, AMC Burbank and the North Hollywood 8) followed by a U.S. roadshow tour culminating in a Los Angeles screening and Q&A at the Ace Hotel on Dec. 12.
