Darlin’ refers to a feral teenager (Lauryn Canny) caked in mud and ravenous discovered by the members of a Catholic hospital. Her yen for raw meat weirds out the staff, but she’s successfully domesticized… until her kith and kin come looking for her. The Walking Dead star Pollyanna McIntosh makes her directorial debut from her screenplay—a riff on Truffaut’s The Wild Child with a horror slant. McIntosh also has a pivotal role in front of the camera. It’s actually the sequel to Lucky McKee’s 2011 opus The Woman, based on characters created by novelist Jack Ketchum. Both McKee and Ketchum serve as executive producers.
