Crash on East Owens Avenue Left Motorcyclist Dead

LAS VEGAS, NV (August 11, 2021) – An unidentified motorcyclist tragically died Friday night after a fatal crash on East Owens Avenue near Mount Hood Street.

The accident happened around 9:20 p.m. on August 6, in the area of East Owens Avenue, near Mount Hood Street.

According to police, the 39-year-old motorcyclist was traveling west on Owens in the inside westbound traffic lane when an eastbound 2016 GMC Sierra failed to maintain his lane, crossed the shared center lane, and collided with the motorcycle.

Responding officers declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene.

In addition, the GMC’s 29-year-old driver failed sobriety tests. Later he was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for suspected drunk driving.

More information will be released as soon as it is available, authorities continue to investigate the accident.
