26-Year-Old Rider Dies in Motorcycle Crash near Mast Boulevard

SANTEE, CA (March 15, 2022) – Early Thursday morning, a motorcyclist was killed in a tractor-trailer crash on State Route 52.

According to California Highway Patrol, officers received reports of the incident around 5:15 a.m., on westbound State Route 52 near Mast Boulevard.

Investigators claimed that a motorcycle crashed into a tractor-trailer, ejecting the rider from the vehicle. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, first responders pronounced the rider dead at the scene.

Authorities later described the unnamed victim as a 26-year-old man from La Mesa. Meanwhile, the 34-year-old tractor-trailer driver from Lakeside remained uninjured.

Santee officials eventually shut down two lanes of the westbound State Route 52 for several hours to investigate. Although, the road has since reopened.
