Deadly Motorcycle Collision on McCoy Lane Results in Fatality in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, CA (August 10, 2021) – Friday night on July 30, a motorcyclist was killed after running a red light on McCoy Lane.

The collision happened around 10:50 p.m., at the intersection of South Broadway and East McCoy Lane, as stated by the report.

According to reports, the motorcyclist was traveling south at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at the red light. Suddenly, the motorcycle broadsided a car that was making a turn onto McCoy from Broadway.

Moreover, the force of the crash caused the car to roll onto its side. The driver, identified as a girl under the age of 18, remained uninjured.

The motorcyclist was later described as an adult male, and was pronounced dead at the scene. However, his name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, the circumstances surrounding the deadly accident on McCoy Lane are still being investigated.
