Rider Pronounced Dead after Running Red Light on Loop 101

PEORIA, AZ (September 28, 2022) – Early Tuesday morning, a motorcyclist was killed in a red-light collision on Olive Avenue.

The incident occurred on the Loop 101 on-ramp and Olive Avenue. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

According to reports, the motorcyclist was running through multiple red lights before eventually striking an SUV at the intersection. Medics arrived and pronounced the rider dead at the scene.

In addition, paramedics transported the SUV driver to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries. However, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.

No further details surrounding the collision have been made available. Although, an active investigation into the red-light collision on Olive Avenue is still currently underway.
