Traffic Crash near Avenue 33 ½ Left Rider Dead

MADERA COUNTY, CA (September 20, 2022) – Friday evening, a head-on collision on Road 12 claimed the life of a motorcyclist.

The fatal accident happened around 7:15 p.m. near Avenue 33 ½ in Madera County.

According to the CHP, a westbound gray Nissan Altima attempted to pass traffic and entered the opposing lane. As a result, the Nissan collided head-on with an eastbound Harley Davidson on Avenue 12.

The rider of the motorcycle died at the scene. Meanwhile, medics transported the four occupants inside the sedan, two adults and two juveniles, to a hospital after sustaining minor to major injuries.

Investigators said the occupants in the Nissan all appeared to be wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
