65-Year-Old Biker Struck and Killed in Collision near El Camino Real

SAN CLEMENTE, CA (September 10, 2021) – Monday morning, a 65-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a deadly crash on the 5 Freeway.

Dispatchers arrived to the scene around 10:14 a.m., near El Camino Real.

According to reports, a male motorcyclist was riding north in a 2010 Harley-Davidson when he was struck by an SUV. Due to the impact, the motorcycle rider from Kansas City, Missouri was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say two vehicles, a 2008 Ford Explorer and 2012 Honda Civic were involved. The Ford was driven by a 35-year-old San Clemente man, and the Honda was driven by a 27-year-old woman.

In addition, a 27-year-old male passenger was inside the Honda. All three passengers inside the cars were unharmed.

The crash on 5 Freeway resulted in the closure of two northbound lanes until just before 2:00 p.m.

No further information has been released to the public at this time.
