Hit-And-Run Driver in Otay Mesa Left Motorcyclist Hurt

OTAY MESA, CA (August 27, 2021) Otay Mesa authorities are searching the hit-and-run driver that left one motorcyclist injured last Monday.

The incident occurred around 6 P.M. at Airway Road and Sanyo Avenue, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Furthermore, investigators also stated that a small red SUV failed to stop at a posted stop sign while travelling southbound on Sanyo Avenue.

Subsequently, the SUV broadsided the motorcyclist and fled before the authorities arrived at the scene.

As a result, the rider of the motorcycle sustained an open fracture to his left leg and remains hospitalized, said Officer John Buttle.

Investigators claimed that the suspect’s SUV is possibly a 2017 to 2020 red Kia Sportage with front right damage.

Otay Mesa Officials and the San Diego Traffic Division continue to investigate the incident.
