Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 Sends Motorists to Hospital

SALINAS, CA (August 23, 2021) A motorcycle rider sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 101 on Thursday.

On August 19, emergency crews were dispatched to the collision on Highway 101 near Esperanza Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident involved four vehicles, including a big rig and a motorcycle. Even though at this time, details and factors surrounding the crash are still unknown.

Both the rider and driver were recovered when the big rig caught fire while the motorcycle was underneath it.

Medics then rushed the motorcyclists to a nearby hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.

Furthermore, the CHP reported that southbound traffic on Highway 101 slowed for a few hours.

The multi-vehicle crash is still under investigation. Once available, more information will be given.
