Fatal Motorcycle Collision on Commercial Street in San Jose

SAN JOSE, CA (November 9, 2021) – Early Wednesday morning, a motorcyclist was fatally struck by a garbage truck on North 10th Street.

The collision took place around 5:50 a.m., at the intersection of North 10th Street and Commercial Street. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, a 2013 Peterbilt garbage truck was turning left on the west side of North 10th Street. There, the northbound motorcycle rider collided with the driver’s side of the truck.

Due to the impact, the rider was declared deceased at the spot. Officers directed cars to use other routes as they conducted their investigation.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.  At this time, no further information has been made available to the public regarding the motorcycle collision on Commercial Street.
