I-280 Shuts Down after Fatal Hit-and-Run near De Anza Boulevard
CUPERTINO, CA (December 10, 2021) – Early Saturday morning, a motorcyclist was killed in a fatal hit-and-run on Interstate 280.
The fatal incident occurred around 1:19 a.m., when a vehicle struck a motorcyclist near the North De Anza Boulevard on-ramp.
However, the involved driver did not render aid and fled the scene before the authorities arrived. In addition, several vehicles also struck the rider after being knocked down in the initial crash.
Eventually, California Highway Patrol blocked multiple lanes of the freeway until around 1:28 a.m.
At this time, the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office currently withholds the identity of the deceased victim. Authorities are still working to investigate the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run crash.
