At Least 4 People Hospitalized After a Rollover Crash on Highway 99

KERN COUNTY, CA (September 17, 2021)  Three children and their mother suffered injuries after a rollover crash on Highway 99 on Wednesday.

The collision occurred around 12:15 p.m. on southbound Highway 99 near Kimberlina Road.

According to the CHP, a tire separation caused the SUV to leave the roadway and flip over, ejecting all of the occupants, who were not wearing any safety restraints.

Furthermore, CHP revealed that the three occupants were between the ages of two and four.

Medics airlifted one child to Kern Medical with moderate injuries. Meanwhile, the mother and her other two children were transported via ambulance.

Authorities said it does not look like intoxication contributed to the crash. Investigators launching an investigation to determine the cause and factors that lead up to this deadly crash.
