  • Height Law Shortened A county judge has thrown out portions of a city law permitting construction of taller buildings in exchange for some affordable housing to be included in the projects.   • Parched Earth Policy On July 1 Southern California's Metropolitan Water District will cut supplies to the region by 10 percent of the average usage for the years 2004-06. On September 1 the MWD will impose a 19 percent rate increase. L.A. Business Journal

  • Troubled Lofts Roosevelt Lofts, a high-end condo development built inside a refurbished 1927 office building, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It will still sell units, located on downtown's Seventh Street, during its reorganization. Curbed L.A.
