  • Cable Guy Crime A carjacker sped off with a cable-TV repair truck with the repairman still in its cherry picker. After the crane basket struck trees and power lines, the repairman fell 20 feet to the ground, suffering serious injuries. Pasadena Star-News

  • Metrolink, Spokeswoman Settle Metrolink will pay Denise Tyrrell $135,000 to head off future claims against the commuter rail service.   • Long Beach to Workers: Take a Furlough Long Beach's city council has voted to force city workers to take a week of unpaid leave to help balance the city budget. The order does not include police or firefighters. Unions claim the city is not guaranteeing the furloughs will prevent layoffs. Long Beach Press-Telegram
