The day you've dreaded is now upon us: April 15th. Tax Day. The last thing you probably want to do is lighten your wallet even more. Fortunately, as mentioned in the previous Tax Day Relief post, a lot of L.A. bars and restaurants feel your pain and will be offering drink specials and even free food and a movie tomorrow.

From 5-7pm, Mark Peel's Tar Pit on La Brea Avenue is offering a classic cocktail for $6. The Income Tax cocktail is made with gin, dry and sweet Vermouth, orange juice and bitters.

Downtown's Elevate Lounge/Takami Sushi knows that you feel like celebrating after filing your taxes, so it's throwing a “Tax Relief Party” from 4-9pm with free food and drink specials for the first hour and half-priced appetizers and drink specials the rest of the night.

The Four at Checkers Downtown happy hour has the cheapest cocktails in town with $4 Ocean Vodka cocktails like a cucumber-mint cocktail and the Rosemary Salty Dog with rosemary, grapefruit juice and a sea salt rim. Chef Todd Allison will also cook up $4 halibut in red Thai curry stew and braised pork belly.

Sister bars Saints & Sinners and Bigfoot Lodge West, which are just steps away from one another on Venice Boulevard in Culver City, created tax day libations. Bigfoot's W-7 whiskey drink has anise, egg whites, lemon juice and bitters for $6. S&S's Damn the Man cocktail, for $5, is made with brandy, Cointreau, beer, 151 and set on fire.

And to get your mind off taxes completely, Custom Hotel in Westchester will have a free screening of Academy Award-winning documentary The Cove at 7pm in its Hopscotch Pool Bar & Grill. Free popcorn, a cash bar and a special Q&A with Crystal Galbraith of the Oceanic Preservation Society.
