38-Year-Old Driver Dies in a Hit-and-Run Crash on Interstate 5

SEATTLE, WA (October 7, 2021) –  A 38-year-old driver of a moped died in a hit-and-run on Interstate 5 last Saturday morning.

The accident happened on Interstate 5 near Lake City Way on early Saturday morning on October 2.

According to troopers, a man on a moped was traveling south on I-5 when he improperly changed lanes and collided with a Toyota Prius for unclear reasons.

Additionally, troopers said the moped driver was thrown and hit by another car that continued on its way.

Medics eventually pronounced the moped driver dead at the scene due to his injuries.

Investigators are looking for witnesses present at the time of the event and asked them to contact Detective Haske at Russ.Haake@wap.wa.gov.
