We’ve been waiting for a good sweat-your-ass-off dance night to make use of the Knitting Factory’s expansive layout, and this week we get our wish as the guys and gals behind Club Bang! (and a zillion other club faves of yore) unveil System, a new party featuring three areas of shakin’ and scene makin’. DJ Paparazzi spins in the main room, and after hearing the kid mash recently, we gotta give him credit: He blends ironic, just plain bad (as in Color Me Badd) dance hits with premium electro pumpers so seamlessly, it not only makes the cheesy stuff rock, it makes the good stuff better. Those with more purist tastes can gravitate to the indie/Brit-pop/’80s room (DJs include BipJeffington and Bractune) or the ’60s/soul/mod/glam spot (with Maurice de la Falaise and Jason Lavitt on the decks). The hip-haircut hullabaloo’s opening night also promises endless posing possibilities with Rony’s Photobooth and promoter/photog Piper Ferguson snapping about, plus makeup, clothing and XLR8R mag give-aways. Knitting Factory, 7021 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd.; Fri., July 6 (and every Fri. thereafter), 9:30 p.m.-2 a.m.; over 18; $10 with flier, $15 without.

Also, hardcore mashup fans won’t want to miss Bootie LA’s two-year anniversary party. DJs Paul V. (Indie 103.1/Dragstrip 66), Adrian and Mysterious D bust out the craziest beat blends and bootlegs, and Smash-Up Derby mingles the pop/rock jingles and jams live. Safari Sam’s, 5214 W. Sunset Blvd., Hlywd.; Sat., July 7, 9 p.m.-2 a.m.; over 21; $12, $8 before 10:30 p.m.
