Curated by KCRW’s Frances Anderton, the Annenberg Space for Photography’s current exhibit, Sink or Swim: Designing for Sea Change, focuses on architecture in coastal areas in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Dutch-born, L.A.-based Monica Nouwens’ contribution to the exhibit includes a photograph of the restored Malibu Lagoon. Having photographed L.A. for more than 20 years (she’s also worked for such clients as Salvatore Ferragamo, Levi’s and Prada), Nouwens lectures on her work, include her current project, Look at Me and Tell Me If You Have Known Me Before, which premiered in 2013 at the FOAM Photography Museum in Amsterdam.
