Tucked between BJ's Restaurant and Habibi Cafe, Mon Amour Cafe celebrates its grand opening today in Westwood Village, with the slogan “A Bit of Paris in L.A.” First-time restaurant owner Mickey Fathi, who worked at Habibi Cafe for more than 10 years, saw an opportunity to take over the space next door when Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory closed.

“I chose Westwood because I've worked in the area for quite a few years and noticed it was in need of a cute and warm place that's cheap, fast and delicious,” Fathi says. “Then when I saw this location, it was a no-brainer.”

The cafe serves sweet and savory crepes, pastries and panini and boasts a deli case with salads, meats and cheeses. The phone line and website soon will go live, and in the meantime visitors can find updates on the cafe's Facebook page.
