This is a fantastic weekend to catch up with some of L.A.'s greatest musical entertainers: Our beloved El Vez and his Elvettes shake it to a Santa theme at the Troubadour, and X's Christmas show is always a heartbeat-warmer. Now, the Grammy Museum invites children for “Musical Explorations” with local heroes Ozomatli. The band will explain how they incorporate various influences into their funky world sound, and then everybody grabs hand-percussion instruments and plays along to one of the band's groovy and rousing songs. The coolest part is you are all invited back that night to join Ozomatli onstage (!!!) at Club Nokia. Then, some years later, your little ingrate (mine included) will tell his friends about his cool parents. Isn't that really what it's all about? The Grammy Museum at L.A. LIVE, 800 W. Olympic Blvd., dwntwn; Sat., Dec. 19, noon; $10, resv. req. (9 p.m. Nokia Live show is free for kids; parents must buy tickets: $23 & $37). (213) 765-6800, ext. 6; family@grammymuseum.org .
