Circus performers! Aerialists! Quiche! Nothing says “Mother's Day” like a Theatricum Botanicum Mother's Day brunch. This Sunday, what better way to spoil your dear momma silly than by taking her to Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum, the terraced amphitheater paradise famous for its legendary performances of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream? It would be hard to match the charm and wonder of such a beautiful setting, located as it is outdoors amidst Topanga Canyon's greenery, especially with the program aerialist performer Lexi Pearl has curated for Mother's Day. The 16th annual Momentum Place: An Uncommon Afternoon promises “dance and performance delights – especially for mothers.” That means a dazzling roster of circus acts, dancers, musicians and aerial performers, a perfect match for the tantalizing list of eats crafted by chef Layne L. Sanden for brunch in the Theatricum's gardens before the show. The menu features crustless vegetable quiche (of course), pineapple-glazed ham, tabouli salad with mint and cucumber, and Kona Inn banana bread, among other delectables, all made to be eaten alongside loved ones in the rustic setting that has made Theatricum Botanicum a beloved place of respite for the Los Angeles community for decades. Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum, 1419 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga; Sun., May 11, brunch noon, performance 2 p.m.; brunch $30, performance $25, students $15, children $10.
