Only five months after Gyenari was revamped into MoKo under the steady, innovative hand of executive chef Gary Robins, the restaurant is closing. Robins is “facing severe health issues,” and owner Will Shin doesn't think he can maintain the menu without him.

An upscale (many would argue overpriced) experiment in “highly flavored, exquisitely seasonal, infinitely varied” banchan, the large and lovely space will be revamped, yet again. In its place, G2 (Gyenari 2) will open September 1st with a less expensive, more conventional menu of Korean barbecue. Look for plenty of happy hour deals.
