Vehicle Crash on Highway 87 Left One Fatality
SAN JOSE, CA (December 27, 2021) – A motorcycle crash on Highway 87 claimed the life of Mitchell Moreno Jr. Friday evening.
Officers responded to the incident around 6:16 p.m. on Friday.
Upon arrival, the investigators determined that a motorcyclist attempted to ride between two lanes going east on Capitol Expressway.
As a result, the rider struck a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck in the leftmost of the three eastbound lanes.
The impact threw the motorcyclist from the motorcycle.
Afterwards, a 2020 Tesla Model Y hit the rider in the center lane.
According to the police, both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Later on, the authorities identified the deceased motorcyclist as 28-year-old Mitchell Moreno Jr.
San Jose Officials are currently investigating the motorcycle crash.
