A man rappeled from the roof of an 18-story Marina Del Rey-adjacent condo complex with Mission Impossible-like skill over the weekend and broke into a woman's residence as she ran for help, police said.

It happened at the Regatta Seaside at Lincoln Boulevard and Maxella Avenue Saturday morning, according to KTLA News. The victim lives on the 15th floor.

The strangest part of this caper:

According to KTLA, the woman awoke to a vision of a man dangling and knocking at her window, asking her to let him in. She fled, of course.

He apparently used a crowbar to get in anyway, but when detectives arrived the discovered that nothing was missing.

They did, however, find about 30 feet of rope hanging off the roof.
