The case of that missing, 22-year-old Glendale woman took a strange twist Thursday after UCLA revealed that she hadn't been enrolled there for about two years — a fact that was news to her own family.

Nancy Salas' family reported her missing Wednesday after she failed to return home from her daily morning jog. She left her home at 2022 E. Eleanore Drive about 6:30 a.m., Glendale police said. Authorities searched the hills of nearby Chevy Chase Park late Wednesday.

Police said that her family believed she was near graduation, but the school reported Thursday that she was a forth-year sociology student who last attended classes at the Westwood campus in 2008.

Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz called it an “odd case.”
