Mondette reports that Minestraio has closed. The restaurant, which was located in the Orlando Hotel on 3rd Street and was La Terza in a previous incarnation, was owned and run by Gino Angelini (Angelini Osteria). Minestraio, a casual trattoria focusing on handmade pasta, opened almost exactly two years ago. Gino's wife and business partner Elizabeth Angelini said by phone that the restaurant closed February 28th and that the closing was because “it just wasn't a good business.” They did not renew the lease. Reportedly the space will become yet another restaurant, probably American, some time this summer.
