Oldest L.A. murder suspect … ever? Saddest tale of love gone sour … ever?

We haven't been keeping records, but this story has to be a challenger. Authorities say 80-year-old Anne Goldner Weiss was beaten to death over the weekend.

Her husband Milton Weiss was arrested on suspicion of murder.

His age?

96.

Neighbors said that Anne complained he was getting more and more irritable. Sharon Queen-Ford told ABC7, “I believe she was becoming scared of him.”

Anne's body was found Saturday about 8:30 a.m. in the apartment the couple shared on Sepulveda Boulevard near National Boulevard in an area near Palms called Westside Village, according to authorities and reports.

A coroner's official told City News Service that Anne died of “blunt force trauma” to the head.

Milton might have dementia, according to reports. Police told KNX 1070 Newsradio that the 96-year-old would undergo a medical examination. City News Service called it a “psychiatric evaluation.” Maybe it's both.

In any case his bail was set at $1 million.
