Compared to President Barack Obama's 2008 campaign, his second run has been lagging in hip factor. No free “Yes we can” ads from Will.i.am; no Shepard Fairey prints; no hot YouTube chicks with a “Crush on Obama.”

Mila Kunis, rebel patriot, to the rescue!

Although she's not on the list of young Hollywood stars and studio execs expected to attend tonight's fundraiser at the Soho House in West Hollywood, she's giving her favorite politician a boost where it counts:

On the grimy streets of L.A., armed with the tools of the graffin' proletariat.

Here's an excerpt from an interview she gave Glamour Magazine for its August issue, in which she goes all midnight-tagger on her dorky interviewer and admits to disobeying L.A. City Hall's current moratorium on street art:

Glamour: Do you fund-raise for Obama?

Mila Kunis: More like street-art-based stuff in Los Angeles that I can't talk about…because I'm pretty sure it's illegal.

Glamour: You graffiti?

Mila Kunis: Mm-hmm. I'd rather do that. I don't need attention for it. What I truly believe in I will do privately.

Ah shit, girl. You CRAY! Then again, the illegal part is sort of a given, considering all new murals and outdoor artworks are against the law under the moratorium. So technically, you could just be rolling big Shepard Fairey posters onto warehouses and calling it a crime of passion.

And that's really the funniest part about this guarded “confession” (aside from the fact that Glamour thinks graffiti is a verb): that Kunis is having to skirt local law to express her love for the current President of the United States.

What has civil disobedience come to? So patently lame, in that very Obey kind of way.
