Truck Collision near Peaceful Oak Road Left Two Hurt

SONORA, CA (March 7, 2022) – A head-on crash on Highway 108 left Mikkel Schwiesow and Zachary Bacis injured Friday evening, police said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 5:15 p.m. near Peaceful Oak Road.

Furthermore, investigators revealed that an eastbound 2012 Ford Explorer drifted onto the south shoulder and overcorrected to the left.

Eventually, as a result, the Ford entered the westbound lanes and collided head-on with a tow truck.

The Explorer driver, 37-year-old Schwiesow of Sonora sustained injuries to the chest and a bloody nose.

Meanwhile, the tow driver identified as 29-year-old Zachary Bacis left injured in his left arm.

Paramedics treated Bacis at the scene and transported Schwiesow to Adventist Health Sonora for treatment.

Sonora Officials continue to investigate the head-on crash.
