58-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Head-On DUI Accident near Clinton Avenue

FRESNO, CA (December 20, 2022) – Early Tuesday morning, Mikio Joseph Garcia was arrested after a suspected DUI collision on Maple Avenue.

The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m., near Clinton Avenue, per initial reports.

According to Fresno Officials, the driver of a Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran through a red light.

As a result, the Dodge collided head-on with an oncoming Honda Civic before striking a steel fence and an apartment complex. Upon impact, the Dodge then caught fire.

Reports stated that bystanders detained the involved driver as they attempted to flee the scene on foot. Eventually, medical personnel arrived and hospitalized the driver of the Honda for treatment of serious injuries.

Meanwhile, authorities arrested 58-year-old Mikio Joseph Garcia for a felony DUI that resulted in injury.
