58-Year-Old Modesto Man Dies in Motorcycle Collision near Gawne Road

FARMINGTON, CA (July 5, 2022) – 58-year-old Mike Vargas Sr. lost his life Sunday in a motorcycle crash on Escalon-Bellota Road.

The collision happened shortly after 3:00 p.m. along Escalon-Bellota Road near Gawne Road.

As per reports, Vargas was riding south when a 35-year-old San Francisco man traveling north in his Tesla swerved into the biker’s lane and they crashed head-on.

The impact of the collision ejected Vargas from his motorcycle, killing him at the scene.

Meanwhile, responding EMS treated the Tesla driver at the scene before police took him into custody for driving under the influence.

Moreover, the family and friends of the victim started a GoFundMe page to help with the funeral expenses.
