Motorcyclist Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near 14 Freeway

SANTA CLARITA, CA (May 24, 2022) – 22-year-old Miguel Rivara was killed in a motorcycle accident on 5 Freeway, early Saturday morning.

The crash occurred around 5:13 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near the 14 Freeway on May 21st.

For reasons unknown, Rivara’s motorcycle crashed into a big-rig in the area. Responding officials declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

Meanwhile, officials have no information about the condition of the semi-truck driver or their identity at this time.

Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, authorities ask those with further information to contact their offices as soon as possible. However, the fatal accident remains under active investigation.
