Two Covina Residents Dead after Semi-Truck Collision on La Tuna Canyon Road

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 27, 2022) – Wednesday morning, Miguel Martinez and Richard Lopez were killed in a big-rig crash on 210 Freeway.

The incident happened around 12:08 a.m., on the westbound lanes of the highway near La Tuna Canyon Road.

According to reports, a vehicle was traveling westbound and struck a big-rig for reasons unknown. Upon impact, the two occupants became trapped inside the vehicle that was lodged underneath the big-rig.

Eventually, firefighters arrived and managed to extricate the victims. The coroner’s office identified the victims as 57-year-old Martinez, of Covina and 41-year-old Lopez, of Covina.

At this time, Los Angeles Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. Once available, further details will be provided.
