Halloween lovers saw their dark dreams die a dismal death in 2020, as COVID-19 made us all cancel plans for spooky events, ghoulish dress-up and other macabre mayhem last October. Will this year suffer the same fate? Only time –and the evil demon called Delta– will tell, but this past weekend L.A.’s (masked-up) horror and goth crowd got to have some fiendish Fall-style fun at least, as this year’s Midsummer Scream event, “Awaken the Spirits” took over the Pasadena Convention Center. With over 200 vendors, entertainment, and presentations about what event organizers (from the LA Haunted Hayride, Delusion, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Winchester Mystery House and more) hope to bring us during the 2021 season of the witch, it was a hell of a good time. Next up: a Season’s Screamings holiday event in December. Enjoy these images courtesy of Hatbox Photography.
