Thanks to the good people at Obama Foodorama, we've discovered that Michelle Obama arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday, whereupon the sustainable-food conscious First Lady took her daughters to Lucques in West Hollywood for Sunday supper. Said the restaurant's Twitter feed, “White House approved Sunday Supper: First Lady Michelle Obama & family, joined us last night. Even the stars were starstruck.” The menu for the evening included apricots and prosciutto with burrata; slow-roasted Colorado lamb over fava tartine with preserved lemon; and bing cherry clafoutis with crème fraîche and hazelnut praline ice cream.

Then last night, according to USA Today, Mrs. Obama went on to Osteria Mozza (an apparent requirement of visiting celebrities) and was spotted with “at least one of her daughters” by TMZ. While ordinarily we don't report on celebrity sightings at Los Angeles restaurants, this is one is a little different. It is, at the very least, a great excuse to mention the work Mrs. Obama has undertaken to help curb childhood obesity in America. Of course, Mozza and Lucques aren't exactly known for their spa food, but all things — even clafoutis — in moderation.
