Riverside Pedestrian Crash Kills Michael Mackey

RIVERSIDE, CA (May 17, 2021) – Sunday, Riverside Police identified the victim of a pedestrian crash on Magnolia Avenue as Michael Mackey.

The fatal accident occurred around 9:10 p.m., at Magnolia Avenue, just south of Elizabeth Street.

A Toyota Yaris traveling north struck a man wandering into the traffic lanes. Afterwards, the driver stepped out of his vehicle as soon as he struck the man and called 911.

Shortly after, the paramedics arrived and transported the severely injured man to Community Hospital where he died.

Later on, the Riverside Police Department identified the victim to be 57-year-old Michael Mackey.

Riverside authorities suspected that intoxication might be a factor in the incident. However, more information will be released once available.
