22-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Semi-Truck vs Motorcycle Crash on Highway 119
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 8, 2022) – On Saturday, 22-year-old Michael Lopez lost his life in a motorcycle crash on Highway 119.
The fatal accident took place at the intersection of Highway 119 and Airport Road around 1:15 p.m.
As per the reports, Lopez was riding a motorcycle when he was involved in a collision with a semi-truck under unknown circumstances.
Due to the impact, responding medics pronounced Lopez dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the unidentified driver of the semi-truck remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
At this time, officials do not currently believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident. However, an active investigation remains ongoing.
