30-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck near Slater Avenue

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (November 10, 2022) – Early Monday morning, Michael Klassen was killed in a pedestrian crash on Beach Boulevard.

Officers responded to the incident around 2:30 a.m., north of Slater Avenue in Huntington Beach.

Furthermore, according to the police, a gray Jeep Compass going north past the intersection struck a man in the northbound lanes.

Responding units pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Later, the county coroner’s office identified the deceased victim as 30-year-old Klassen of Laguna Niguel.

Meanwhile, the 50-year-old Jeep driver from Fountain Valley remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Authorities said drugs and alcohol do not appear to factor in the collision.
