A man was shot as he was standing in front of a residence in the 700 block of East 108th Street in Green Meadows January 30. The suspects fired several shots at 27-year-old Michael Kelly, striking him once in the chest.

Kelly ran a little bit before he collapsed. He was taken to a local hospital where he died. Police believe the Saturday evening shooting was gang-related. “That area is known for gang activity,” said LAPD homicide supervisor Sal La Barbera. According to the LA Times Homicide Report, there has been 40 homicides in the Green Meadows area since January 1, 2007.
