Two-Vehicle Crash Near Marina Drive Left Michael Joseph Figone Dead

SANTA BARBARA, CA (May 11, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a motorcycle accident on Marina Drive claimed the life of Michael Joseph Figone. The fatal collision happened around 4:51 p.m. at Marina Drive near Alisa Lane area in the city of Santa Barbara. The CHP claimed that a local guy in his 40s was engaged in a motorcycling accident with a postal vehicle. The truck entered Hope Ranch by turning left onto Alisa Lane at about 4:51 p.m. Unfortunately, the rider succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Neighbors complained that motorcycle riders prefer the wide, open highway on Marina Drive because it is one of the few streets without speed bumps. The CHP reported that a witness believed the motorbike was traveling quickly. Authorities also said the other driver did not sustain any injuries. In addition, the collision also prompted the closure of Marina Drive temporarily.
