64-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident near Standing Rock Avenue

APPLE VALLEY, CA (December 15, 2022) – Saturday evening, a pedestrian collision on Outer Highway 18 claimed the life of Michael Carvajal

The deadly incident happened on December 10th around 6:12 p.m., between Standing Rock Avenue and Erie Road. 

At this time, the circumstances that led up to the incident and the identities of the other parties involved remain unavailable. 

Responding emergency personnel declared one pedestrian dead at the scene. Crews later identified the deceased victim as 64-year-old Michael Carvajal. 

Following preliminary duties, it was unclear whether the involved driver stayed at the scene. However, Apple Valley Authorities claimed that the incident was not a hit-and-run. 

Furthermore, a portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. No further details regarding the pedestrian accident have been released to the public. Apple Valley Officials will provide more information once made available.
