Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision on Deepdale Way

ELK GROVE, CA (April 7, 2022) – Monday afternoon, Micah Banks was arrested after a fatal pedestrian crash on Frye Creek Drive.

Police responded to the scene near the intersection of Frye Creek Drive and Deepdale Way, around 2:45 p.m.

Per reports, the driver of a vehicle veered off the road and into the path of a 67-year-old woman who was walking on the sidewalk. After striking the woman, the driver traveled through Rosedale park and fled the scene.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced the female pedestrian dead. Her identity remains withheld at this time.

Police located and arrested a runaway driver, 20-year-old Micah Banks. Afterwards, crews took Banks into custody in the Sacramento County Main Jail.

Circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation.
