Tonight, a memorial service will take place in Santa Monica paying tribute to Michael Been, the frontman for influential Northern California band The Call, who passed away last month. The service will include speeches by Been's friends and colleagues and will feature a special performance by Been's son and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club member, Robert Been.

The 60 year-old died of a heart attack August 19 while backstage at Belgium's Pukkelpop festival, where he was performing sound engineer duties for his son's band.

The memorial service will take place tonight at 7:30 at St. Anne's Outdoor Grotto, in Santa Monica.
