Homeless Woman Killed in Pedestrian Crash near Vienna Drive

SANTA ANA, CA (February 1, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a pedestrian accident on West 1st Street claimed the life of Melina Sierra Martinez.

The incident happened on January 17th, at around 5:55 a.m., at the 2800 block of West 1st Street. 

According to reports, Martinez was in the area when a vehicle struck her. The impact of the collision left her with fatal wounds.

As a result of the crash, medics pronounced 30-year-old Melina Sierra Martinez dead due to the extent of her injuries. At this time, it is unclear whether Martinez died at the scene or at a hospital.

Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police do not believe alcohol to be a factor in the crash. At this time, the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
