Tammy Mae Silkwood Arrested after DUI Crash near Wadsworth Avenue

PISMO BEACH, CA (January 25, 2022) – Saturday evening, a DUI accident on Highway 101 killed 27-year-old Melia Rose Gray.

According to reports, the incident happened around 9:15 p.m., near Wadsworth Avenue. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

Investigators say Tammy Mae Silkwood lost control of her southbound Honda Accord on Highway 101. The Honda then struck a guardrail in the center median before going down an embankment and hitting a tree.

Medical responders arrived and transported 55-year-old Silkwood to a local hospital with major injuries. In addition, her two passengers, Gray and 39-year-old Gabriel Luis Almaguer suffered major injuries.

Due to the extent of her condition, Gray later succumbed to her injuries at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo.

Officials arrested Silkwood for suspected DUI. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Officer Carr at (805) 594-8700.
